WHY COLLEGE?
The value of a college education is obvious, and we all want our kids to be college graduates. This graph shows what the labor market was like in 2011, in the middle of the Great Recession, when the U.S. economy was at its worst. You will see that the better your education, the more you were earning, and the less likely you were to be unemployed, even in a very bad economy. There's no doubt about it, over their whole lives, your kids' college educations will be worth it.
This graph was prepared by the U.S.Bureau of Labor Statistics and Georgetown University and appeared in the New York Times on July 24, 2011.
